Portland man shot during anti-Donald Trump protest

According to police in Portland, Oregon, a man was shot early Saturday morning while participating in a protest against Donald Trump.

“In the early morning hours of Saturday November 12, 2016, a man was injured in a shooting on the Morrison Bridge during a protest march,” Portland Police said in a statement. “Preliminary information indicates that a suspect was in a vehicle on the bridge and there was a confrontation with someone in the protest. The suspect got out of the vehicle and fired multiple shots injuring the victim.”

The man who was shot was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police provided aid to the man until an ambulance arrived.

The shooter, who is still on the loose, is described as an African-American male in his late teens at 5’8″ with a thin build wearing a hoodie and jeans. The suspect’s vehicle is describes as being a gray or silver sedan.

The shooting comes as protests have broken out across the nation following the results of the 2016 presidential election. Portland has been at the center of the most violence and unrest, and a curfew has been instituted for everyone under the age of 18 years old.
