Azealia Banks decries double standard in ‘praise’ of Kanye after Trump visit

Azealia Banks called out the different ways people had reacted to her and to Kanye West and their mutual support of President-elect Donald Trump.

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

When Azealia Banks voiced her support for Donald Trump before the end of the 2016 presidential election, she was ridiculed and dragged all over social media. But when Kanye West went to visit the president-elect at Trump Tower, he was ‘praised’ for his outreach, according to Banks, who is calling out the double standard.

Taking to Facebook, Banks called out the different ways people had reacted to her and to West, writing, “Watching all the black people who bashed me for endorsing trump praise kanye for going to visit him.”

“Watching all the people who bash me for being outspoken praise x,y, and z for being ‘sassy’ and ‘feisty,'” she added in a follow-up post.

Banks’ fans were quick to back her up as well as to give her advice, with one fan writing, “Not enthusiastic about Trump, but I applaud you for going against identity politics and not buying into the mainstream media. people need to look at things objectively … and not what the media says.”

“Don’t listen to their talk. Don’t internalize it all. Your talent is out of this universe. Can’t be nice and polite in a rotten world,” wrote another fan.
