As the country prepares for the inauguration of Donald Trump to become the next President of the United States, the news site Think Progress is taking steps to make sure that Trump is held accountable by the media with their Trump Investigative Fund.

“It’s sad to watch but journalists are sucking up to Trump in a transparent bid for access,” the site said, later adding that news should be “about accountability  —  not access.”

With that goal in mind, the site is asking for donations, with a goal of $250,000.

“We need to file Freedom of Information Act requests, monitor government contracts, and communicate with whistle blowers. We need more resources, because we have so much more work to do,” they wrote in their request for aid. “If we reach our goal, we will hire two additional reporters to accelerate and expand this work.”

Donations of at least $40 will also get you a tee shirt, which says “resist” on its design. That is the theme of Think Progress’s campaign, as they say they will “resist” the current journalistic trend of allowing Trump to set the conversation.

As of Monday, the site only had $50,000 left to reach their goal.
