During an interview with “Meet the Press,” Rep. John Lewis, of Georgia, said that he felt Russian interference with the election threatened the legitimacy of Donald Trump’s presidency.

Lewis said that he believes in forgiveness and would try to forge a relationship with the incoming president, but “it’s going to be very difficult. I don’t see this president-elect as a legitimate president.”

He specifically cited the hacking that led to information released on the DNC and Hillary Clinton.

“I think the Russians participated in helping this man get elected. And they helped destroy the candidacy of Hillary Clinton,” Lewis said.

He went on to add that he would not be attending the inauguration, saying, “I don’t plan to attend the inauguration. It will be the first one that I miss since I’ve been in Congress. You cannot be at home with something that you feel that is wrong, is not right.”
