Tuesday afternoon, it was announced that Lee ‘Q’ O’Denat, founder of World Star Hip Hop, has died.
TMZ reports that he died Monday evening in his sleep. While sources are speculating O’Denat suffered a heart attack, no official cause has been released.
According to a recent New York Times profile, the Queens, New York, native was of Haitian heritage and started World Star Hip Hop in 2005 as a place to post mix tapes. The site later gained notoriety as a hub for hip-hop videos, fight clips and other outrageous footage that often goes viral.
I really am at a loss for words. I just spoke to you last night. You were more than just a friend and brother and even more than a godfather to my first born. You were my light and my inspiration. We traveled the world and I feel sometimes I owe you the world. I love you Lee Odenat. I can never thank you enough for what you have done for me and my family. It's #WSHH forever bro. #Worldstar #Qworldstar #Queens
