BET has picked up the pilot for a series about Nas’ life.

Titled Street Dreams after the Queens rapper’s 1996 hit song, the series will follow Nas “as he evolves from young man to crack dealer to rapper to adult.” With Jonathan Levine at the helm, Nas himself will executive produce.

Originally, it was reported that a Nas biopic had been picked up by Xbox Entertainment Studios, but since the studio is now defunct, BET, riding the ratings high of The New Edition Story, is sweeping in to take over on the series that was started three years ago.

Grio fam, what do you think? Are you excited for the Nas biopic?
