According to US Weekly, while Melania Trump had originally arranged to stay in New York with her son, Barron, while he finishes out his school year, rumors were flying that she was reconsidering the move, though ultimately, it looks like she decided to come to the White House after all.

The rumors that the First Lady would be remaining in New York stemmed from a source telling Us Weekly, “They will reevaluate toward the end of the school year if they will keep this arrangement or if Melania and Barron will move to Washington… They could go either way right now. They will ultimately do what’s best for Barron.”

The source continued to say that Melania would come down “on weekends” but added that she is still building up her staff.

“Melania is actively building her team, including hiring a chief of staff, a senior adviser and a social secretary, among other key positions,” the source said. “While [Melania Trump] is a mom first, she is very much embracing the role and responsibilities of first lady.”

However, the rumors were debunked when CNN reported that Melania had hired Lindsay Reynolds to serve as her chief of staff, and the First Lady said in a statement that she was “excited to be organizing and bringing together such a dynamic and forward-thinking group of individuals who will work together to make our country better for everyone.”
