Knowles, who managed the singer’s early career both as a member of Destiny’s Child and solo artist, said that he started to realize something had happened because of a text message he received: “I got a first text and I kept saying ‘Why is this person saying Congratulations?’ I didn’t know myself!”
After telling the story of how he found out about the pregnancy news, Knowles went on to confirm that Beyoncé would indeed be performing at the Grammys.
“I was like, ‘Are you OK?’ because she sounded a little tired because she has been working on the GRAMMY performance. And we just had a wonderful daughter-dad conversation,” he said.
