Rumors of the possibility began floating after PageSix reported that Hall had discussed her career with Discovery’s Henry Schleiff over lunch. “He was encouraging her to join Kelly,” the source reported. “He said, ‘Throw your hat in the ring! Lighten things up.’”

The move comes after Hall left NBC when it was announced that Megyn Kelly would be joining the “Today” show, displacing the third hour that Hall and Al Roker have hosted together for years. Kelly is expected to either host the third hour herself or to take over the fourth hour, with the fourth hour hosts moving up one time slot.
