Darius McCrary is denying claims made by his wife, Tammy Brawner, that he abused her and their infant daughter.
Darius McCrary is denying claims made by his wife, Tammy Brawner, that he abused her and their infant daughter. Instead, McCrary says, Brawner is simply trying to get his money by making those claims.
According to McCrary’s attorney, Glen T. Jonas, who spoke with TMZ, Brawner “is no victim … she is a predator motivated by a desperate desire to extort money out of Mr. McCrary while trying to create an advantage in an impending divorce and custody battle.” Jonas stated that, on the other hand, McCrary “is a loving, devoted and dedicated father. [Tammy’s] allegations are such obvious and outlandish lies … we are all dumber for having read them.”
“Having floundered after being fired by the Globetrotters she apparently will say anything for a bit of media attention and a glimpse of the spotlight,” he added.
In the meantime, though, McCrary is required to stay at least 100 yards away from Brawner at all times since she accused him of getting violent with her in front of their child and of striking her. A hearing is scheduled for next month.
