Bidding war for Barack and Michelle memoirs heats up

With the news that Barack and Michelle Obama are writing their memoirs, the publishing world is in a frenzy bidding for the rights to their books.

According to the the Financial Times, the bidding has already passed $60 million for the “most hotly anticipated deal of the year.”

Simon & Schuster, Macmillan, Harper Collins and Penguin Random House are all said to be in the running for the publishing bidding war.

The two books will reportedly be written separately. It will be the fourth book for the former president and the second for the former First Lady.
