According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. is considering a reboot of The Matrix, and what’s more, they might just be considering Michael B. Jordan for the project.

The film, which is said to still be in the very early stages of development, could see a “potential interest” in Jordan to star, with Zak Penn reportedly in talks to write the reboot.

The original star of the film, Keanu Reeves, had previously expressed an openness to doing more with the Matrix universe but stipulated that the Wachowskis, who originated the series, would have to be involved.

“They would have to write it and direct it. And then we’d see what the story is, but yeah, I dunno, that’d be weird, but why not?” he told Yahoo Movies.

But seeing as there is no indication that the Wachowskis are involved in the potential reboot and the interest seems to be leaning toward Jordan to star, it doesn’t look like we’ll see Reeves return to his iconic role.

Grio fam, what do you think? Can a reboot even touch the greatness of the original?
