According to The Hollywood Reporter, Smith wanted $20 million for the role in Tim Burton’s upcoming film, but Disney turned him down. Instead, he’s getting $20 million from Netflix for Bright.

THR reports that Disney, which has been doing live-action reboots of many of its old classics, has been getting a reputation for being “cheap” with its actors, much like Marvel Studios has reported to be.

Colin Farrell is reportedly being considered as a replacement for Smith.
