In speaking about the show “Good Times,” Lear said that he knew Walker’s role on the show “could make him a star” before he dropped the news: “I love him. He’s a wonderful guy, but I’ll tell you something about him that’ll astound you: He dates Ann Coulter.”
“I am as serious as I can be, and I spent an evening at the same table with them, so I know,” Lear continued. “As we’re driving to the dinner, I said, ‘Ann Coulter will be at the table.’ [And my wife] said, ‘I can’t sit at the table with Ann Coulter, I will not sit at the table with Ann Coulter.’ And Ann Coulter was a dreamy, delicious, sweet person.”
According to Entertainment Weekly, rumors have swirled around the possibility of the two of them being an item for some time, though Coulter has consistently refuted those claims and has said instead that she and Walker are just close friends.
Coulter is an infamous and quite controversial conservative pundit, who is often called racist for oftentimes jarring statements. Walker has been known for his political views as well, once coming under fire for saying that he didn’t vote for Barack Obama in 2008 and wouldn’t in 2012 either.
