Lifetime is putting forward a film about the water crisis that recently struck the city of Flint, Michigan, and captured national attention.

The film, which stars the likes of Queen Latifah, Betsy Brandt, Jill Scott and Marin Ireland, will be based on the Time magazine cover story, “The Toxic Tap,” by Josh Sanburn. It will follow the true story of three women seeking justice after the truth was uncovered about the state of the lead-filled drinking water in that city.

Queen Latifah will executive produce alongside Craig Zadan, Neil Meron and Katie Couric, with Bruce Beresford to direct and a script by Barbara Stepansky.
