On Tuesday, a gunman in Fresno, California, killed three people and may have shot a fourth during his shooting spree.

After he was taken into custody, the gunman, Kori Ali Muhammad, told police that he hates white people. All three of his victims were white men. Police in Fresno said that Muhammad screamed “Allahu Akbar” before he was taken into custody.

“Immediately upon the individual seeing the officer he literally dove onto the ground and was taken into custody and as he was taken into custody he yelled out ‘Allahu Akhbar,’” said Police Chief Jerry Dyer.

“What we know is that this was a random act of violence,” Dyer said. “There is every reason to believe he acted alone.”

After the shooting spree, police went over Muhammad’s social media posts to find a motive.

“We know that he has some posts that says that he does not like white people,” Dyer said. “Also on that post, he has expressed some anti-government sentiments. Fortunately he is in custody.”

Muhammad fired on a utility truck at about 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday and then gunned down a pedestrian on a corner a short distance away before shooting his third victim at the parking lot of Catholic Charities. The entire spree happened in about the span of a minute.
