Man sues R. Kelly for alleged affair, claims he gave wife STD

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

An Mississippi man is suing R. Kelly for having an affair with his wife.

According to the court document, the man, Kenny Bryant, claims that Kelly had an extramarital affair with his wife, Asia Childress, for years. Bryant claimed that Kelly and Childress had been together before their wedding in 2012 but that Childress had promised that the fling was over. However, shortly after their wedding, Childress allegedly got back together with Kelly, and they began an affair that lasted for years.

Bryant also blamed Kelly for a move that he said was “financially ruinous.” He claimed that Childress had pushed for a move from Mississippi to Georgia, claiming that she needed to move for her career when instead she simply wanted to be closer to Kelly.

According to Bryant, Childress eventually requested a divorce, which Bryant says was because of Kelly’s “blatant disregard for Bryant’s and Childress’ vows.”

“Bryant tried every avenue to hold his marriage together, but his efforts could not prevail against R. Kelly’s continued sexual overtures to Childress,” the lawsuit states.

What’s more, the lawsuit claims that the singer gave his wife chlamydia: “Childress was treated for chlamydia during time period. Childress contracted the sexual disease from her extramarital relationship with R. Kelly.”

Bryant is now seeking compensatory and punitive damages from Kelly for “willful, wanton, reckless and tortious conduct” for ruining his marriage and family life.
