‘American Idol’ may be headed to ABC in 2018

American Idol looks like it might be headed for ABC in 2018.

According to TMZ, ABC is in talks with the owners of the show and working out the details to negotiate the return of the show in 2018. Both sides reportedly expect the negotiations to come to a close “soon.”

NBC is reportedly no longer bidding on the show, and while FOX made an offer, TMZ reports that it looks like ABC is the strongest candidate.

The site also reported that ABC had asked if the show could be moved to New York City so Ryan Seacrest could host it, but that idea was reportedly tossed, and the show will go forward in Hollywood.
