Elderly woman thrown into pool after asking neighbors to turn down music

A Florida teenager turned himself in to authorities after he was caught on video throwing an elderly woman into a pool after she asked teenagers at a pool party to turn down their music.

According to the Broward County sheriff’s office, video footage was captured at the pool party, which took place on Saturday at an apartment complex, showing the woman with her two dogs surrounded by teenagers while taking video with their cell phones.

A teenager in a red shirt picks up the woman, but both of them fall to the ground before he gets up to drag the woman toward the pool before throwing her in.

According to police, the 68-year-old woman suffered injuries to her leg and shoulder.

“We’re just asking them — just lower the volume,” the woman, who is a board member of the Players Place Homeowners Association, told CNN affiliate WSVN. “I didn’t care what they were doing. That’s not my job to police the place.”

The teenager in the video turned himself in on Monday and has been charged with battery of a person 65 years of age or older.

“I messed up and I have to own up to it,” the teen reportedly told officials.
