According to Variety, in the untitled series, Morgan’s character, Tray, has just been released from a 15-year stint in prison on good behavior and now must try to reassimilate into society. But along with all the changes to society itself, he runs into a personal change that shocks him as well: his girlfriend, played by Haddish, has totally transformed.
Tray and Shay broke up when he was in prison, with Tray hoping to spare her from the heartbreak of having to wait for him. But now, Shay has gone from a tough street girl to an ultra-refined socialite who is married to a white man.
