Two people were reportedly shot by Milwaukee police after a police chase. Several witnesses and bystanders recorded video of the incident, which was posted online hours before the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s office confirmed that its deputies had been involved in the incident on Sunday.

Hundreds of people were on the lakefront for one the hottest day of the year thus far for the city, so there were plenty of witnesses to film the incident as a car being pursued by Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office drove into traffic and got up on the median to get around cars before gunfire could be heard. One deputy approaches the car before the suspect tries to flee again, and the deputy appears to fire at least eight shots into the driver’s side of the car before the car comes to a crashing stop at the stoplight.

Another video shows a man and a woman being dragged out of the car, while bystanders claim that the driver is “dead in the driver’s seat.”

Another video shows the driver lying motionless while EMTs strap him down to a stretcher. A male voice belonging to the person recording the video can be heard to say that the driver is 18 years old and that the woman was also shot by police.

An image was also posted online showing what appears to be the suspect vehicle with bullet holes in the windshield.

The two people who were shot remain hospitalized, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, though more information on the shooting has not yet been given.
