‘1000 likes or I will drop him’: Father dangles son out of the window on FB

An Algerian father was sentenced on Monday to two years in prison after he dangled his infant son out of the window to demand “likes” on Facebook.

According to the BBC, Facebook users were rightfully panicked and outraged when the unidentified father dangled his son out of the window in Algiers. He posted a picture of the precariously perched little boy along with the promise to “drop him” if he didn’t get 1,000 likes.

“What is most striking is that it appears that the father is carrying his son with his left hand while using his right to take the picture,” one person commented on the picture, according to local media outlets. “This means the picture is more important than the child’s life.”

Facebook users alerted the authorities, who arrested the father and charged him with endangering the welfare of a child.
