Alysia Montaño just ran the 800-meter 5 months pregnant

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

Alysia Montaño is five months pregnant, but that didn’t stop her from running the 800 meter race at the USATF Outdoor Championships in California.

Montaño, who is from Queens, New York, wore a Wonder Woman top in the 110-degree heatat Hornet Stadium in Sacramento on Thursday. She also wore flowers in her hair. The Wonder Woman top was, she said, a way to symbolize that she was a “fighter for good,” while the flowers were for “strength with femininity,” according to her website.

“I think that a lot of people say things like you run like a girl. That doesn’t mean you have to run soft or you have to run dainty. It means that you’re strong,” she said in a message on her site.

“I came here last time at 8 months pregnant in 2014 and it was such an amazing experience,” she told Team USA.

She added, “There is something about coming out to any venue not really expecting to win but going along with the journey and seeing what comes out of it.”

Although Montaño placed last, she did beat her 2014 time.

Montaño’s daughter, Linnea, who is nearly 3 now, waited for her mother at the finish line wearing a shirt that read, “Strong Like Mom.”
