Idris Elba says he will never remarry
In a recent interview with Essence, Idris Elba said that he had no plans to remarry.
Elba, who has been married twice before, said of the idea of a third marriage, “Am I ever gonna get remarried? I don’t think so. Yeah, I don’t think so.”
“Marriage is an institution of sorts. And I’ve done it,” he said. “It’s not for everybody. It’s not my life’s calling.”
Instead, he has been focusing on Muay Thai boxing and chronicling his training for the upcoming docu-series “Idris Elba: Fighter.” He started training as a kickboxer when he was in his 20s, but he has not actually competed in a match.

“I’m training for a professional fight,” he said. “It felt right to come to Thailand which is where Muay Thai began … I’ve been here for just over two weeks now training.”
Asked where he gets the energy for all of these projects, Elba explained that it was his children: his 3-year-old son, Winston, and his 15-year-old daughter, Isan.
“I’m 44 years old with a two-and-a-half-year-old boy, I’m rolling around playing and then I’m at a Drake concert with my teenage daughter,” he said. “Having a young child now keeps me young, without a doubt.”
