Shortly after arriving in France on Friday, President Donald Trump commented on the physical appearance of France’s first lady.

“You’re in such good shape,” Trump told Brigitte Macron before turning to French President Emmanuel Macron to repeat the compliment. “She’s in such good physical shape. Beautiful.”

As for Brigitte Macron, her reaction was caught on camera, along with the compliment. Her back was to the camera, so her expression is not seen, but she does appear to grab the arm of First Lady Melania Trump and step slightly backward. The clip was part of a Facebook video stream on Macron’s account, and it quickly began to spread online.

The whole thing took place while the Trumps were touring the Hôtel National des Invalides, which houses the tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte.

Trump has been widely criticized for his treatment of women, especially his tendency to comment only on their physical appearance, both positively and negatively. He has been previously criticized for bashing the physical appearance of women he does not like, such as Rosie O’Donnell.

He also recently came under fire in June when he paused a phone call with the prime minister of Ireland to talk about the physical appearance of Irish reporter Caitriona Perry.
