Usher’s insurance company doesn’t want to defend him in STD case

Usher's insurance company has filed court documents asking a Los Angeles judge to excuse them from defending him.

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

According to People magazine, Usher‘s insurance company has filed court documents asking a Los Angeles judge to excuse them from defending him.

The New York Marine and General Insurance Company states in the filing that they should not be required to defend Usher because he allegedly withheld his herpes status from them. They also claim that he hid a previous lawsuit from them related to his herpes status, which was reportedly settled in 2012 for $1.1 million.

People reported that the insurance company states in its records that it “does not provide coverage for an ‘insured’ who has intentionally concealed or misrepresented any material fact or circumstance.”

–Usher accuser tweeted ‘I need money’ a week before filing lawsuit–

They also noted that Usher’s policy “does not apply to ‘bodily injury’…arising out of the transmission of any communicable diseases by insured.”

While the judge is still deciding on the case, New York Marine and General Insurance Company will remain as a defendant in the cases brought against Usher. The company is hopeful, however, that they will be able to recoup their losses from the case.

This after two women and one man stepped forward this week claiming that they had sexual relations with Usher and were not informed of his alleged herpes status.
