Dave Chappelle and Dylan from ‘Making the Band’ finally meet

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

Way back in March 2004, Dave Chappelle did a sketch on his Chappelle’s Show making fun of Diddy as well as Dylan, a member of the group Making the Band, who were managed by Diddy.

In the now-famous sketch, Chappelle, as Dylan, touted his own prowess, saying, “Who are the top five greatest rappers of all time?” and then answered his own question by saying, “Dylan, Dylan, Dylan, Dylan, and Dylan because I spit hot fire.”

Now, 13 years later, Dylan and Chappelle have finally met.

In a video posted to Dylan’s Instagram account, the two are seen joking around and quoting lines from the famous sketch to each other.

“For those who grew up watching me…you know how epic and amazing this was. My first time meeting @chappellercmh. My album is coming Sep 15th. I guess the stars lined up at the perfect time. Bless up to @wyclefjean @diddy and everyone else I reunited with this year,” Dylan captioned the Instagram video.

Chappelle also recorded a promo for Dylan’s upcoming album, Pain 2 Power.
