David Duke has meltdown after Trump condemns white supremacists

After President Donald Trump put out a statement condemning white supremacists, David Duke took to Twitter to have a small meltdown.

“Racism is evil, and those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the KKK, Neo-Nazis, white supremacists and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans,” Trump said on Monday after being criticized for his earlier statement saying that the violence and hatred was a result of “many sides.”

“It’s amazing to see how the media is able to bully the President of the United States into going along with their FAKE NEWS narrative,” Duke said in a series of tweets claiming that the president had been manipulated by pressure from the media.

Then, he put out a Periscope video rant, which included several racist and anti-Semitic statements, in which he said that it was “just ridiculous” that Trump felt he needed to make the statement that he did.

“President Trump, please, for God’s sake, don’t feel like you need to say these things,” Duke said. “It’s not going to do you any good.”

He also defended James Fields, the 20-year-old man who is accused of ramming his car into a group of counter protesters, killing one woman and injuring several other people. “When you’re under attack … you panic and you do things that are stupid and you do things that are wrong,” Duke said.

This after Duke had appeared to be happy with Trump’s vague statement on Sunday, tweeting out a warning not to anger the white supremacists that have supported him: “I would recommend you take a good look in the mirror & remember it was White Americans who put you in the presidency, not radical leftists.”

He also said during the “Unite the Right” rally itself that the rally would fulfill Trump’s “promises.”

“This represents a turning point for the people of this country,” Duke said. “We are determined to take our country back. We are going to fulfill the promises of Donald Trump.”
