The site tweeted about the situation as well stating that Cantwell has been banned for life. They said their website has “no room for hate in a place where you’re looking for love.”
They have also made clear that if users come across people involved in hate groups they can report these users to the OkCupid support team.
They say they have banned other users from the site for similar reasons but felt it important to share the Cantwell news publically because she said, “we believe we have a responsibility to set the tone, especially as a place where we help connect people, we have to care about who you are and your role in the community.
