An Atlanta police officer has been put on leave after being accused of running over a man that he allegedly thought was a suspect.

Warren Hill said that he was run over in a parking lot after being mistaken for a domestic violence suspect.

“It hurt bad,” he said. “My head, my neck, my back, my whole body. You get hit by a car, what do you think is going to happen?”

“I was trying to get away from the cops and I was scared of the cops, so I ran. So they thought I was the suspect and ran me down like a dog or an animal,” he added.

Hill said that he was arrested even after police realized that they had the wrong person because they realized as well that he had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court for a broken taillight.

Hill has said that he is considering filing a lawsuit over the incident, which has left him fuming.

“Madness, heartless. I am a human being,” he said.

Smith has since been put on leave, and the incident is under investigation, according to the Atlanta Police Department.
