As Hurricane Irma, a now weakened Category 4 hurricane, heads toward Florida, one father of the bride isn’t going to let the life-threatening storm stop his daughter’s wedding.

Tom Mercurio’s daughter is getting married in Clearwater on Saturday, and Mercurio isn’t going to postpone it or move it.

“Aunt Irma is not invited,” he told the Associated Press.

Mercurio said that he was simply focused on having a “great time” at the wedding, adding that he was not concerned about Irma. He stated that, since Clearwater is on the west side of Florida, he was unconcerned, because he believes the hurricane will stay to the east.

This despite the fact that Florida Gov. Rick Scott declared a state of emergency on Monday and southern parts of the states are in a state of mandatory evacuation.

Pinellas County, where Clearwater is located, is also under a state of mandatory evacuation for coastal and mobile homes.
