On Saturday, Sloane Stephens won her first Grand Slam title at the U.S. Open women’s final, held at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing, New York.
And then, when the 24-year-old received her $3.7 million check for winning the title, her reaction was absolutely priceless.
The Young Turks’ Andrew Jerell Jones captured her look of total and complete awe as she seemed to say “wow” and “thank you” to the presenter.
And she has good reason to be shocked, as ESPN’s Darren Rovell pointed out: Her total earnings for the last 7 years on tour were $4,519,709. So a single check for $3.7 million is definitely worth a “wow.”
