Noose found hanging outside Brooklyn Public Library

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

Officials say they found a noose hanging from a tree at a branch of the Brooklyn Public Library.

Workers at the library’s Bedford Branch found the noose hanging in the courtyard on Thursday morning, two hours before it opened for the day.

Police took the noose down. It was made from six-foot long rope and has been taken in as evidence.

The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is now investigating and no arrests have been made.

The library has said they are “cooperating fully with the investigation.”
