During the 2017 Emmys, host Stephen Colbert brought in a surprise guest: Sean Spicer.
At the start of the show on Sunday, Colbert was making jokes at President Donald Trump‘s expense, specifically ridiculing his obsession with crowd sizes. He gestured out at the Emmys crowd and said that he couldn’t possibly know how big the crowd was there without enlisting some help.
Enter Sean Spicer.
The former White House press secretary came out with his signature podium and lambasted his old boss, continuing the joke about crowd size and hearkening back to his own first press conference in the White House.
“This will be the largest audience to witness an Emmys, period! Both in person and around the world,” Spicer declared.
“Wow, that really soothes my ego,” Colbert joked.
