Obamas reportedly eyeing Upper East Side apartment
Former president Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, are reportedly eyeing an apartment on the upper East Side in historic Manhattan.
According to Page Six, the former First Family is considering 10 Gracie Square on the Upper East Side, near the governor’s residence at Gracie Mansion. The historic building has also been home to the likes of Gloria Vanderbilt, André Kostelanetz and Alexander Woollcott.

The five-bedroom, four-bathroom apartment was designed by Daniel Romualdez and features views of the East River as well as a wood-burning fireplace.
The building has 15 floors and an indoor basketball court and gym. Most importantly, security is good; the building has an underground parking structure, so the Obamas would be able to come and go without being seen outside.
One of the apartments in the building reportedly went under contract for $10 million recently, which would be within their range, considering the $8.1 million Tudor-style mansion in Washington, D.C. that they recently purchased.
