Is Kanye West launching a streaming company to compete with Jay-Z?

West has filed trademarks for a possible new streaming service called "Yeezy Sound."

Kanye West might be getting ready to take on JAY-Z‘s Tidal.

According to The Blast, West has filed trademarks for a possible new streaming service called “Yeezy Sound,” a company for the “streaming of music, audio, images, video and other multimedia content over the internet.”

–Kanye West performs for the first time in nearly a year–

This after West’s public break with JAY-Z’s streaming giant, Tidal, and his claims that he is owed $3.5 million for “The Life of Pablo” in unpaid advances and bonuses.

JAY-Z responded to West’s beef with him, and subsequently West’s attack on Beyoncé at one of his concerts, by tearing him up and down on his “4:44” album.

It’s not clear when “Yeezy Sound” would be up and running if West does decide to go with the idea, but we’ll be keeping an eye out.
