Nicki Minaj‘s brother, Jelani Maraj, was just convicted in the child rape trial that has spanned nearly the last three weeks.

On Thursday, the verdict was handed down, and Maraj was found guilty of predatory sexual assault against a child and endangering the welfare of a child.

His sentencing is set for Dec. 14, and he will face 25 years to life in prison.

“We hope that today’s verdict will help the family in the healing process,” Nassau County D.A. Madeline Singas told TMZ.

Maraj was accused of raping his then 11-year-old stepdaughter while she was living in the same house as him. In harrowing testimony, her younger brother testified that he had seen Maraj assaulting his sister when he was just 8 years old, and the girl herself testified that Maraj had threatened to take her and her brother away from their mother.

Although Maraj’s legal team had suggested that Nicki Minaj would testify to support her brother, she never testified at the trial.
