Oprah says she’s not running for president in 2020 for shocking reason

Oprah Winfrey gives us regal royalty on the cover of British Vogue, and while she’s our Queen to be, she reaffirmed that she has no plans to run for the Presidency in 2020.

The billionaire media mogul opened up about her future ambitions and sadly due to the viciousness nature of today’s political climate, Winfrey said she doesn’t intend to take on the task.

“In that political structure — all the non-truths, the bulls**t, the crap, the nastiness, the backhanded backroom stuff that goes on — I feel like I could not exist,’ she said. ‘I would not be able to do it. It’s not a clean business. It would kill me,” Winfrey said.

The 64-year-old certainly has better ways to spend her time, like running the OWN empire. However, back in February, she told PEOPLE she gave running for President some consideration, but ultimately decided against it.

“I pay attention, and when you have that many people saying something, I thought gee, I never in my life, ever, ever, thought I would be in politics. I’ve always said no no no no no,’ she said at the time. ‘Am I at least supposed to look a that question?

“I had enough people, billionaires calling me, saying I can get you a billion dollars, I can run your campaign. And I went into prayer. God, if you think I’m supposed to run, you gotta tell me, and it has to be so clear that not even I can miss it.”

And while she may not have gotten her confirmation from God, Winfrey still glows like a goddess on the Vogue cover wearing a custom-made Stella McCartney off-the-shoulder gown.

The 64-year-old entertainment and media mogul reigns supreme as the first Black woman billionaire ever featured, reports the AJC. She joins as one of the 500 richest people in the world, along with Microsoft’s Bill Gates, and Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg.

Just about anything Winfrey’s touches turn to gold. In recent years, she added Weight Watchers Ambassador to her lengthy resume and her boss bank account is all the better for it. Her fortune hit $4 billion this week because of her stake in Weight Watchers International Inc., according to Bloomberg.

And the television icon got her own special exhibit at the famed National Museum of African-American History and Culture (NMAAHC) recently, which will let visitors see how her life and career influenced American culture for more 30 years.

The exhibit, entitled, “Watching Oprah: The Oprah Winfrey Show and American Culture,” opens this Friday and will run through June 2019.

And just when you thought Oprahand Apple could not possibly earn more money here comes another announcement about a major merger that could reap another few billion.

Media mogul and tech giant Apple have signed a multi-year partnership to create programs that will become part of a lineup of original content from Apple, Variety reports.

The announcement marks another notch in Winfrey’s expensive designer belt. She already owns the cable network OWN, home to the haunting New Orleans-based drama Queen Sugar. OWN, the Oprah Winfrey Network, launched in 2011 from a partnership with Discovery Communications.

The issue of British Vogue hits newsstands on July 6.
