Popular late-night treat ‘Amateur Night at the Apollo’ is going digital as the iconic talent show deploys its first mobile app. Now available for Android and iPhone, the smart phone offering will allow fans of the show all over the world to cheer and boo contestants in a manner rivaling live audience participation.

Through the Apollo app experience, users will be able to track performers, access behind-the-scenes footage, and vote on their favorite future stars. The legendary Apollo theater has famously launched the careers of luminaries such as Stevie Wonder and Ella Fitzgerald.

Users of the Amateur Night Mobile App will also be able to see live performances and comment on them.

Jonelle Procope, CEO of the Apollo Theater, told the local Manhattan news site DNAInfo.com that the new app will “share the Apollo experience with an even broader audience in New York and around the world.”
