Ann Coulter calls NYPD officers ‘little girls’ on Twitter

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

On Tuesday, Ann Coulter took to Twitter to call the NYPD “little girls,” comparing their am with firearms to that of Paris police who responded to an attack earlier that day.

“Paris police very macho, unlike the little girls on NYPD: Only 2 shots fired, one hit the Muslim in the thorax,” Coulter wrote alongside a Breitbart News article describing the attack in Paris, in which police shot and wounded a man who tried to attack officers with a hammer. The attack took place nearby the Notre Dame Cathedral.

According to French interior minister Gérard Collomb, the man approached three officers from behind with the hammer, and one officer responded by firing two shots and hitting the attacker in the legs. The attacker allegedly shouted,”This is for Syria,” during the attack.

Coulter’s comments on the attack infuriated many, including Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association President Patrick Lynch, who called the comments “as idiotic as they were insulting.”

“She owes an apology to every NYC police officer who risk their lives daily to protect her. In particular, she owes an apology to Police Officer Irma Lozada and Moira Smith and countless others who have died protecting this city,” Lynch said, speaking of two famous fallen female police officers.

“There are plenty of conflicted voices out there, but one thing remains true and that is the courage, dedication and bravery of our brothers in blue — both in Paris and New York City,” said Roy Richter, the President of the NYPD Captains Endowment Association.
