Former Obama ally and Democrat-turned-Republican Artur Davis has appeared in advertisement supporting Mitt Romney for the 2012 election.

The recent 30-second pro Romney ad shows the former Alabama Congressman explaining his political change of heart. Davis talks about his disappointment with “ObamaCare” causing him to join the GOP and change his voter registration from Alabama to Virginia.

In 2008, Davis supported then-Senator Barack Obama at the Democratic National Convention. He has since switched parties, and delivered a full-throated endorsement of Mitt Romney and the Republican National Convention this year in Tampa.

“The last time I spoke at a convention it turned out I was in the wrong place. So Tampa, my fellow Republicans, thank you for welcoming where I belong,” says Davis in the clip.

The new ad, in a series entitled Why I Changed my Voteis paid for by Super PAC Ending Spending Action Fund. According to USA Politics, the organization claims to have received more than 5,000 stories of people explaining why they have changed their vote from Obama to Romney.

“This year I’m casting my vote for someone who can fix the problems facing us. That’s Mitt Romney,” said Davis.
