Biracial boy nearly lynched to death in New Hampshire

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

An 8-year-old biracial boy had to be flown to the hospital after he was nearly lynched.

According to a Facebook post made by his mother, the boy had to be flown to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center after an older teenage boy tried to hang him up by his neck from a tree with a rope.

“So my son is being flown to Dartmouth after a 14 year old kid decided to hang him from a tree. I don’t care if this was a so called accident or not. My son almost died because of some little sh** teenage kids,” Cassandra Merlin wrote in a post on Facebook.

Merlin’s brother and the boy’s uncle also posted pictures of the rope burns around his nephew’s neck to Facebook.

Claremont Police Chief Mark Chase said that he could not comment on the matter and would only say that the police were investigating the matter since last Monday. He said that he could not give any specifics or speak on the case because the people involved were juveniles.

Chase also would not say whether the incident was being investigated as a hate crime. While many people on social media were quick to call it as much, the boy’s family members also admitted that they were not sure if that was the case.
