Sports fans across social media joked that they had to break out the tissues after watching the emotional 4-minute clip, which highlights the folks Wade has inspired on and off the court, Ad Week reports.

The film shows Wade swapping jerseys with NBA legends throughout his final season with the HEAT. As he stands in the middle of a basketball court, Wade is greeted by five people who want to meet the man who helped change their lives, including a woman whose family he helped after their home burned down, a lawyer who was able to attend college because of a scholarship thanks to D. Wade and his foundation and Andrea Oliver, the sister of parkland victim Joaquin Oliver, who Wade honored last season by writing his name on his sneakers.

“Throughout the year, I’ve had the opportunity to reflect on my basketball career and thank so many teammates, coaches and mentors who have impacted me on the court,” Wade said. He also thanked Budweiser for “reminding me that my connection to people is bigger than basketball.”

The NBA icon also noted that as his basketball career comes “to a close in the coming days, my relationship with my fans will only continue to grow.”
