NBC Philadelphia reports the West Philadelphia Tarheels went undefeated this season, and one would think that means a bid to play at Disney World with the top teams from around the nation. However, the group of 9-year-olds were told two other teams from their division had been selected to go instead.

Upon hearing the team’s heartbreaking story, Congressman Bob Brady (D., PA), with the help of the Eagles, provided the youngsters with 50 tickets and transportation to last Sunday’s game at Lincoln Financial Field.

Although the Tarheels went 11-0 this season, their dreams were crushed when the league decided to change its playoff rules halfway through the season. According to NBC Philadelphia, during the 2014 season, “Pop Warner went with a playoff structure in order to select two teams from the Tarheels’ Mitey-Mites division that would go on to Disney.”

The same playoff system was in place for the 2015 season, but to the best team in the league’s dismay, that rule was changed following complaints. So at the end of the season, officials picked two teams from their league at random to go to Disney.
