A Florida corrections officer is on the other side of the law after she found some inappropriate things in her husband’s cell phone.

Saida Douglas, 30, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm Wednesday for her angry outburst in the couple’s Lauderhill apartment. On Tuesday night, Douglas and her husband, Michael, got into a fight over his cell phone content.

It’s unclear what Douglas objected to in the phone, but it was enough to make her pull out her pistol. Douglas grabbed her husband by the arm and began yelling at him. Investigators say that at some point, she took her service weapon, a .40 caliber glock, and took a shot in his direction.

Michael Douglas defended his wife in court, telling a Broward judge that she shot at him because she thought he was going to attack her. He claimed the gun misfired and that Douglas didn’t actually shoot at him.

Judge Jay Hurley didn’t find the story convincing and to make matters worse, the couple’s three kids were also in the home at the time of the incident.

“The court believes you took a shot at your husband and we have to be aware of the safety of your husband,” Hurley said.

Saida Douglas has a $60,000 bond and has been placed on administrative leave from the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office.
