Donald Sterling has been banned from any association with the NBA for life. His ownership stake with the Los Angeles Clippers is over.
So how does Sterling feel now?
“I feel fabulous,” Sterling told NBC4’s Fred Roggin Tuesday night in Los Angeles. “I feel very good. Everything is just the way it should be, really. It may have worked out differently, but it’s good. It’s all good.”
Sterling was attending a charity event for Shelter Partnership, which aims to help the homeless population in Los Angeles County.
“I’m just so proud and so honored to be here,” Sterling said of the non-profit’s event. “And I want to support them. And now we have certainly adequate funds to help them.”
The last line, delivered with a wink, was a clear reference to the Clippers’ sale for a record-breaking $2 billion to ex-Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer.
Sterling got paid, and he knows it.
Roggin followed up with Sterling, asking him again if he was “ok” with the sale of the team. Sterling insisted that he was.
But he said wasn’t sure about the NBA itself.
Sterling ends the interview by assuring Roggin he is ready to “move on.”
