Actor Chadwick Boseman made a convincing Jackie Robinson in the hit biopic 42, but can he fill James Brown’s shoes?

The question may longer plague music fans after they get a glimpse of the first trailer for the long-anticipated film Get On Up.

The movie, directed by The Help‘s Tate Taylor, aims to bring the colorful life of the late “Godfather of Soul” to the big screen.

Plans for a film dedicated to the life of Brown have been in the works for years, with A-Listers like Eddie Murphy and Spike Lee being linked to the project at various times.

This movie, which is being produced by legendary rock star Mick Jagger, features an all-star cast which includes Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Tika Sumpter and Dan Aykroyd.

However, it’s Boseman who takes center stage — dancing, screaming and shouting like the late Brown himself.

Take a look at the first trailer and let us know you think.
