It was reported last week that Kanye West was in the process of creating a movie adaptation for his Yeezus album and tour.

Though he’s working on a script with American Psycho author Bret Easton Ellis, Yeezy tapped into his music roots to find the perfect director for his vision.

Recruiting the legendary film and music video director Hype Williams, Kanye announced that the Yeezus movie will be in theaters soon on his website.

Hype Williams last big screen movie was the Nas and DMX crime drama Belly. The 1998 movie hit theaters and garnered mixed reviews, but it’s revered as a cult classic within the hip-hop community.
