J. Crew under fire for not doing black model’s hair, issues response

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

J. Crew is facing a backlash over their decision to not style one of their black model’s hair in one of their recent posts.

Needless to say, this did not go over well with many black people, especially women. While many were outraged others said that if black women want people to embrace natural hair as beautiful, this is natural hair too.

J. Crew has tweeted a response to the outcry, they said, “J. Crew strives to represent every race, gender, and background. We sincerely apologize for the styling of this model and the offense that was caused. We assure you that we are taking steps to address it, and to prevent this from happening again.”
