Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

Talk about an Odd Couple. Comedic actors Kelsey Grammer (Frasier) and Martin Lawrence may be teaming up for the new sitcom, according to Deadline.

The show, which would be produced by Lionsgate TV (the studio that releases Tyler Perry’s films), has apparently been in development since last fall, but was delayed by drama in Grammer’s personal life.

Now that a divorce settlement with Grammer’s ex-wife Camille has been resolved, the show is on the “fast track.”

While Grammer and Lawrence make for an unlikely, if high profile, pairing, few TV fans may realize that Grammer is the brains behind hit African-American shows like Girlfriends and The Game.

For Martin Lawrence, the yet-to-be titled show would be a return to the medium that made him a household name twenty years ago.
